My sister has lived away from home internationally for the last 10 years, so I didn't get to see her very often. Recently her and her husband moved to Vancouver and they are now expecting their first little person. It was so nice to be able to fly out and see this cute little bump that's due any day now. As per usual for Vancouver, the weekend was filled with rain but the blossoms were also out in full swing and put on quite the show. So so excited to meet this little one...
Every time these 2 girls get together all I see is beauty and joy. The way they interact with each other, the way their faces light up whenever they see each other, they way they fight like sisters and then moments later are the best of friends once more. My life as a mom has become better through knowing Cosette and the way she reflects onto Kate. There is just something that falls into place in Kate's life whenever she is around. We've again managed to score matching dresses for the girls ( I think this time makes 4?) and when I look through these images of them it reminds me of a fashion magazine. So different from what we've done before and yet so perfect. From watching them just naturally fall into the rhythm of exploring and just being kids to seeing their excitement at pretending to be Cinderella and kicking off a shoe. Watching the world through their eyes is truly a joy.
I don't know about you, but like a lot of other moms I really struggle to get out of the house and do things with my kids. It's just so much easier to stay in sometimes. However when we do venture out on excursions it's always worth every moment. For the third time (what are the chances) Kristy Anne and I ended up unknowingly getting our girls matching dresses and thought an urban setting would be the perfect place to complement them. At the last moment I grabbed some bubbles just in case and man was that a winner. The look of pure joy on Lewis' face says it all. I love how our kids are all growing up together and each have their own style and personality that shows through. Doing things with your kids doesn't always have to be some fancy program or set activity. Sometimes all you need are friends and bubbles.
We all love a good spa night, but there's just something about little people enjoying it that makes it that much more special. Cosette came for a sleepover so naturally we had to have a girlie night. we painted our toes and put diamond stickers on (painting teeny tiny toes is definitely a challenge...) put on our pajamas and obviously needed to have sleep caps and masks for our beauty rest. I love this age where our girls are totally into this kind of stuff, but at the same time makes me a bit teary knowing they are growing up so very fast. These moments definitely won't last forever so I will enjoy every moment that I can...Thank you Kristy-Anne for raising such a beautiful friend for my girls.
